              Hand-stuffed tamales are a tradition enjoyed in Mexico for special celebrations and holidays. Labor intensive, the ladies of extended families come together for large tamale making gatherings.  Tens, if not hundreds, of tamales are made in batches; to be later enjoyed for breakfast, lunch or dinner over multiple festive days.  Tamales freeze very well and resulting are very easy to keep on hand.
            Faviola Ramos, co-owner of Agave Cocina & Tequilas – Issaquah Highlands and the restaurant’s kitchen staff have made tamales by popular demand for the holidays every December since opening five years ago. This year, the new Agave – Seattle location will join in producing these limited time, popular holiday delicacies.

Bake's Place Bellevue Celebrates 2nd Anniversary as "BEST NEW RESTAURANT" on Eastside


 
BELLEVUE, WA June 17, 2014 Bake’s Place has been named the “Best New Restaurant” on the Eastside for 2014, in a prestigious readers’ poll. This is the second year that the popular Bellevue bistro has been honored by the readers of an Eastside focused magazine. Last year, the same readership awarded another coveted title to Bake’s Place, “Best Place to be Entertained on the Eastside”.

Since its relocation to Bellevue in June of 2012, Bake’s Place has become a lively gathering place for downtown residents and workers, as well as food and music aficionados from throughout the region. Over the past two years, Bake’s has expanded its offerings to accommodate the diverse tastes of the rapidly growing neighborhood. During the week, guests can enjoy daily lunches and Happy Hours, casual dinners with acoustic background music and late night, no-cover blues on Friday. SEATTLE – January 9, 2014 The city’s premier food and wine event, the Seattle Wine and Food Experience (SWFE), is back for a sixth year Sunday, February 23, 2014 (12-­‐5 pm VIP, 1-­‐5 pm General Admission) at the Seattle Center Exhibition Hall.
